2009 and after hearing the news of MJ's death I thought I'd go back to Mangere College and check out the Common Room where I left my mark. I wasn't expecting to see anything on that brick wall and didn't get my hopes up. As I made my way through the all too familiar hallways (it felt like I had never left my old school) I came to the Common Room doors. Feeling excited I peeked through the locked doors and saw the mural behind a few stacked desks. "Whoa" I said to myself, "It's still there!".
After finding someone to open the doors I soaked it up checking the mural out and what my skills were like back in those days. On close inspection I spotted my signature and flat top logo (word!), so thanks to teacher Liz Potter I got me some snaps with the 20 year old MJ mural.
Here's my tribute to MJ, a mural I did with my 7th form buddies Tepa, John Freeland and Bryan Nimo 20 years ago.
